Stupid Cab Driver

Was driving home along AYE on the 1st lane and this irritating cab driver kept tailgating me. He was so close that I think I can even see his face clearly from my rear mirror, beamed his lights at me somemore...

 

I was not even driving slowly. Was driving at around the speed limit of 90km/hr and it was not as if the road in front was empty and he can speed all the way if I give way. Right in front of me at about 2 or 3 car length away was another vehicle, so if I give way to him, he will still be stuck behind another car driving at the same speed.. so is he going to 'bully' people all the way?

 

Such drivers should be ban from the road for putting people's life in danger, what if there is an emergency and I need to brake? I doubt he can stop in time, and that is what I did... I just kept stepping on the brake to light up my braking lights every so often =p Then I purposely slow down to allow a big gap in front of my car so that people from the 2nd lane can cut in if they wanted to. Wanted to make the stupid cab driver behind 'pek chek'. And when he tries to cut to the 2nd lane to overtake my car, I delibrately sped up to close the gap and stay in line with other cars in the 2nd lane so that he will get stuck behind the 2nd lane car. Then he have no choice but to move back behind my car in the first lane if he wants to continue to drive 'fast'.... 

 

Did it for about 2 times and in the end I think he decided to attempt to overtake from the 3rd or 4th lane but too bad.. the cars are even slower there and I lost him when he got stuck behind the vans and lorries... =p

There was once a sports car was tailgating me. I did similar stuff like you. The car was so beh song with me, started to beam headlights, etc. End up I change lane, he followed close behind. He chased me all the way from Bt Timah to Jurong before I had to exit and do a few loops to lose him.

It can be real scary, man, if the other person is persistent and all out to get you.

hi guys, just my opinions from what i learn driving from Singapore to BKK.

I was very impressed by drivers who gave way to higher speed vehicles despite driving at the legal speed limit. It is actually more dangerous for vehicles to overtake from the left since all drivers were formally trained to overtake from the right.

To me,this is a gracious driving etiquette and its a win win and happy ending for all parties: I see u coming from behind,i filter left to let u past before moving back after.

It is not a matter of how big M'sia & Thailand are or how small Singapore is, but you'll never know that one day,if u have to attend to some family emergencies and willing to pay for even speeding fines,but the driver in front just refuses to give way..

Driving to me is an enjoyment and there is really no need to make it more stressful. If i am in extreme right,i do give way. If i encounter slower driver(s) in front,i signal right to indicate i wish to overtake and request him to give way. However,i think our society simply is not at this level yet..so I just live with it,but hope to inspire more people with what i practice.
